Universal Studios and Hogwarts

The blog has changed again! Shiz! Sorry guys, I'm just going to send you all over the damn place to look at our travel photos aren't I?!
I had a realization while out in FL that our vacation photos are a lot like having your rich family sit you down in their living room after a full dinner that leaves you basically in a food coma and unable to pull yourself out of any given situation, where they then throw on their vacation slides for you to suffer through... against your better judgment, while you grin and nod through someone elses memories.

I'm so sorry!
I was spending money on a blog that wasn't serving any purpose other then to be your annoying relative who over shares their lifestyle.
Well, I'm not going to stop over sharing, but I am going to do it for free now so that at least when I have like 2 viewers, I don't feel like I'm throwing money out the window.
I know, who blogs anymore?! I just have WAY TOO MANY photos to start attempting to over share on Instagram. I can not possibly post 300 photos in a single day, as much as I would love to do that for the sake of my tiny chatbooks, there has to be a different way to share our travel memories. I have too many cameras and too much time on my hands. *grins*

So... Florida was like, a month ago.
It was so much fun! Too much fun! Seriously, I came home feeling like I needed ten days to sleep it all off.

Our tour guide was my Mother-In-Law, Terry, who knows all things inside out and backwards about these theme parks that we went to. We were not short on things to do or see.

Our first stop was Universal Studios. I had never been, and it was a blast! It represented the other half of my childhood, you know the part that isn't Disney, in a single park. I won't bore you with too many details. You can catch the captions as I go through the photos, or just look at the photos.

Hopefully Blogger doesn't go anywhere so that I can keep an archive of our memories here, but don't worry, I'll also be putting all of these into a photo album. I just don't know the right way to share them, and I don't want to loose sight of my love of photography, so enjoy the new, new, new... new blog!

Nick and Aryn waiting around the hotel for all of our cool gear to check out the parks.

First time at Universal!

Felt like a time machine straight into the 90's.

He's going to hate me for adding this photo. Love you babes!

My Grandma used to be obsessed with Betty Boop! I couldn't resist taking a photo, even though I have no idea who the blonde is.

Diagon Alley

Can't not have butterbeer ice cream!

Nick sorted himself into Gryffindor. Seems fitting. Aryn put herself in Ravenclaw, again, these kids know who they are.

The Hogwarts Express

This was the family feast at the Three Broomsticks. YUM!

I was a little obsessed with everything Simpson's.

OMG, I love dinosaurs... up until I freak out my son. LOL

Little bit of a date night. We were exhausted!

Dinner with Scooby Doo and Shaggy.

Animal Kingdom Safari

Easily my favorite part of Animal Kingdom is the safari ride. We all fell in love with the animals, and probably because we came in the spring-ish we were able to see all kinds of babies.  Of all of the parks Animal Kingdom is not very high on my list of places to stop. They do have a fun little Dinosaur Land area for kids, but aside from that, and maybe we just didn't explore it properly but I do remember this same feeling the last time we visited 8 years ago, there just weren't as many attractions that I was excited about. Now, though, they have Avatar Land and you know how I feel about that. I would definitely go back just for that. Here are some photos I took while we were on our safari ride, and at the end are a couple of photos from the Lion King live show we were able to stop and watch after, which the kids loved. Super fun!

Hitting the Trails.

Alright, so we've been in this cute little town home of ours for a few weeks now. I have yet to post any real photos of it and that's for two reasons, the first is that obviously life has been crazy busy and second is that we don't have grass yet, and everything still feels kind of dirty, on the outside at least. You'll get a tour later, because it's adorable! One of the things I was most excited to unpack when we arrived was my bike, which upon first real ride out in the wide wide world promptly got a flat. Fixing that as soon as I possibly could, I finally got my loooong ride on the trails I've been dying to get back on and as I rode I started putting the dots together and discovering some new and old places that I love and connecting them all on my internal map. A real map is nice, but sometimes the adventure of putting it all together yourself is way more fun. Just this morning I took a walk with the kids to see what else we could find. Thinking we would...

85th Birthday Reunion

Grandma Joan, on Shawn's side (his mom's mom), is turning 85 on the 19th! To celebrate we had a big family reunion in WY at Alcova Lake. It was beautiful and loads of fun! Short and sweet, but so worth it. I was a little worried about the road trip out there. It's about a 6 hour drive from our current home away from home in Park City, and the worry comes from my little boy previously HATING the car, and the fact that we have been driving all over the place for hours at a time these past three weeks. I guess though, instead of hating it, it prepared him to deal with it. He loved it. Right before our trip I got an email from Michael's Craft Store about a big sale they were having that included those little lap trays that you put over your lap to color, draw, eat... etc. Has little cubbies for a bottle of water, crayons, notepads... etc. That was pretty much a life saver from the moment we bought them and I wish I had had them sooner. A lot sooner. These road trips just...
