Animal Kingdom Safari

Easily my favorite part of Animal Kingdom is the safari ride. We all fell in love with the animals, and probably because we came in the spring-ish we were able to see all kinds of babies.

Of all of the parks Animal Kingdom is not very high on my list of places to stop. They do have a fun little Dinosaur Land area for kids, but aside from that, and maybe we just didn't explore it properly but I do remember this same feeling the last time we visited 8 years ago, there just weren't as many attractions that I was excited about. Now, though, they have Avatar Land and you know how I feel about that. I would definitely go back just for that.

Here are some photos I took while we were on our safari ride, and at the end are a couple of photos from the Lion King live show we were able to stop and watch after, which the kids loved. Super fun!

Mother's Day in Avatar Land!

This was my second Mother's Day in a Disney theme park. I LOVE Mother's Day at Disney! They are so nice to Mommies. First, as you walk into the park they give all the women flowers, real ones, beautiful and colorful carnations, and everyone tells you Happy Mother's Day all day long. The flowers I got, which ended up being two, I was able to save and put into a glass and set on our dining table at the condo we stayed at for the remainder of our vacation after our stay at Kidani Village. I liked that personal touch, and if I stay at a condo like that again, which I'm sure I will, I'll probably go ahead and add fresh cut flowers to my grocery list so we can all feel a little more at home. On Mother's Day Shawn and the kids bought me an adorable little coffee plant planted in a little ceramic giraffe from the gift shop in our lodge. I love it so much! It managed to survive the trip home with us, and is growing big and beautiful. I was worried about going from humi...

Hitting the Trails.

Alright, so we've been in this cute little town home of ours for a few weeks now. I have yet to post any real photos of it and that's for two reasons, the first is that obviously life has been crazy busy and second is that we don't have grass yet, and everything still feels kind of dirty, on the outside at least. You'll get a tour later, because it's adorable! One of the things I was most excited to unpack when we arrived was my bike, which upon first real ride out in the wide wide world promptly got a flat. Fixing that as soon as I possibly could, I finally got my loooong ride on the trails I've been dying to get back on and as I rode I started putting the dots together and discovering some new and old places that I love and connecting them all on my internal map. A real map is nice, but sometimes the adventure of putting it all together yourself is way more fun. Just this morning I took a walk with the kids to see what else we could find. Thinking we would...
