Hitting the Trails.

Alright, so we've been in this cute little town home of ours for a few weeks now. I have yet to post any real photos of it and that's for two reasons, the first is that obviously life has been crazy busy and second is that we don't have grass yet, and everything still feels kind of dirty, on the outside at least. You'll get a tour later, because it's adorable! One of the things I was most excited to unpack when we arrived was my bike, which upon first real ride out in the wide wide world promptly got a flat. Fixing that as soon as I possibly could, I finally got my loooong ride on the trails I've been dying to get back on and as I rode I started putting the dots together and discovering some new and old places that I love and connecting them all on my internal map. A real map is nice, but sometimes the adventure of putting it all together yourself is way more fun. Just this morning I took a walk with the kids to see what else we could find. Thinking we would...

Jordanelle Camping

Our month in Park City was pretty awesome. Jam packed with activity and TONS of driving to and from family. My new Pixel now thinks that I live in Park City and gives me daily updates on traffic conditions so that I can make good time to get "home". Park City definitely became home-away-from-home. Thank you so much Mom and Dad Neibaur for letting us crash at your place. Part of our stay in Park City was a weekend camping at Jordanelle. We've really come to love that lake. It helps a lot that they do sailing, our very favorite activity, that we haven't done in WAY TOO LONG! We have many plans for that in our coming summers.   I almost a bought a boat this summer. Waiting is hard.  I have a love/hate relationship with camping. I think a lot of people agree with me on this. I love camping. It is totally great. I didn't really grow up camping though, I went a couple of times with my older brother, but aside from that it took me ten years into marriage and kids ...

85th Birthday Reunion

Grandma Joan, on Shawn's side (his mom's mom), is turning 85 on the 19th! To celebrate we had a big family reunion in WY at Alcova Lake. It was beautiful and loads of fun! Short and sweet, but so worth it. I was a little worried about the road trip out there. It's about a 6 hour drive from our current home away from home in Park City, and the worry comes from my little boy previously HATING the car, and the fact that we have been driving all over the place for hours at a time these past three weeks. I guess though, instead of hating it, it prepared him to deal with it. He loved it. Right before our trip I got an email from Michael's Craft Store about a big sale they were having that included those little lap trays that you put over your lap to color, draw, eat... etc. Has little cubbies for a bottle of water, crayons, notepads... etc. That was pretty much a life saver from the moment we bought them and I wish I had had them sooner. A lot sooner. These road trips just...
