Animal Kingdom Safari

Easily my favorite part of Animal Kingdom is the safari ride. We all fell in love with the animals, and probably because we came in the spring-ish we were able to see all kinds of babies.  Of all of the parks Animal Kingdom is not very high on my list of places to stop. They do have a fun little Dinosaur Land area for kids, but aside from that, and maybe we just didn't explore it properly but I do remember this same feeling the last time we visited 8 years ago, there just weren't as many attractions that I was excited about. Now, though, they have Avatar Land and you know how I feel about that. I would definitely go back just for that. Here are some photos I took while we were on our safari ride, and at the end are a couple of photos from the Lion King live show we were able to stop and watch after, which the kids loved. Super fun!

Mother's Day in Avatar Land!

This was my second Mother's Day in a Disney theme park. I LOVE Mother's Day at Disney! They are so nice to Mommies. First, as you walk into the park they give all the women flowers, real ones, beautiful and colorful carnations, and everyone tells you Happy Mother's Day all day long. The flowers I got, which ended up being two, I was able to save and put into a glass and set on our dining table at the condo we stayed at for the remainder of our vacation after our stay at Kidani Village. I liked that personal touch, and if I stay at a condo like that again, which I'm sure I will, I'll probably go ahead and add fresh cut flowers to my grocery list so we can all feel a little more at home. On Mother's Day Shawn and the kids bought me an adorable little coffee plant planted in a little ceramic giraffe from the gift shop in our lodge. I love it so much! It managed to survive the trip home with us, and is growing big and beautiful. I was worried about going from humi...

Animal Kingdom's Kidani Village

The lodge we stayed at in Animal Kingdom was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. Truly a once in a lifetime experience for this little family.  We stayed in Kidani Village . We were able to use our fast pass wrist bands to get in and out of our hotel, as well as in and out of the parks. The kids thought that was pretty awesome and fought over who got to open the doors.  Our room was amazing, a little apartment/condo. Kitchen, two bedrooms, balcony all across the back connecting all of the rooms. Incredibly beautiful! I felt right at home there, which means I probably have expensive taste, but let's just say it's because it's cozy and inviting.  Shawn and I agreed that our favorite day of the entire 10 day trip was the day it rained all day, with lightening and thunder, and we sat on the balcony with mugs of coffee watching the zebra get scared and run around after each lightening strike. That's what made this truly incredible to experience.  I...
